Another talented German DJ. Nick Curly spins by the capital Feb. 24 with his particularly brand of danceable tracks. He's coming to promote his new album Between the Lines which is said to showcase a different, slower feeling than his previous work.
How would you describe your sound? I like to say I play house music with a sexy groove and always pushing the sound.
What are you looking forward to in Beijing? Tasting the food, seeing the Great Wall, and to see what the nightlife is like in Beijing. I have been to Shanghai before and had a really good time. My friends say Beijing is a very pretty city. I know it will be a bit cold but I am used to that since I was born in the south of Germany.
You recently performed at Mexico's BPM Festival alongside one of your favourites, DJ Sneak. How was that? DJ Sneak is one of my all time favourites and a legendary house DJ. It was an honor and he is also a very nice guy.
The "Between The Lines" tour is for your upcoming debut album. Will you be playing tracks off of it? How do you incorporate instrumentation into your performance? I use a lot of loops and sounds from my new album and will also play some full length tracks. I am very proud of this album and I hope that people will discover a new side of me.
You are also a club DJ; will we hear any of that at this show? I am total club DJ and love to spend time in the club and feel the energy from the people on the dancefloor. This inspires me to make the music I produce.
