Beijing’s fashion design scene is rapidly developing, but this actually means fewer opportunities for young, lesser-known designers to have their collections shown. That’s why we’re thrilled about Attitude, a platform for up-and-coming designers to put together real fashion shows that are open to the public. The first installment of Attitude, last November at The Opposite House, included collections from Attitude founders, Beijing-based designers Ralf Schuchmann and David Ubl, as well as menswear designer Janine Grosche. The second installment, Attitude Reloaded, will be even bigger. Ubl and Schuchmann will be joined by local Chinese designer Wang Liming to present three full collections on the Migas rooftop.
Ubl’s summer collection mixes silk bamboo knits, leather, cotton and Tokyo denim, with a soft color palette from cream to chocolate browns. Natural materials and draped tailoring creates a comfortable, loose style, and see-through knits add a sexy touch. Wang Liming’s spring/summer womenswear collection features clean silhouettes focusing on fit and feminine lines, with soft satin fabric and leather, as well as floral and paisley patterns. In Schuchmann’s newest collection, women will be dressed in Grecian style dresses, blazers and suits, with clothes in silver, berry, royal blue, ocean blue and gold, and jewelry by Paloma Sanchez. Men will sport color-blocked blazers and colorful biker-style jackets.
Tickets are available for purchase on start-up website Demo Hour and at Migas. Tickets to the show are ¥100. It’s ¥300 for both the show and the after party, as well as photos from the event and one drink. VIP tickets at ¥800 include both tickets, plus the best seats in the house, an iPhone case and a T-shirt. And two lucky City Weekend readers will get a pair of tickets each for free—just check out our online contest to find out how.
