Founded in 1961, Young Concert Artists is a professional classical music organization and competition that is known for discovering young talent around the world.
First held in Beijing in 2010, this year marks the third time the YCA will visit the Forbidden City Concert Hall. This year sees five talented young musicians take the stage. Violinist Caroline Goulding has performed with some of North America’s most influential operas, and in 2011 was awarded an Avery Fisher Career Grant. Her first recording with pianist Christopher Riley was nominated for a Grammy in 2009.
Previous YCA award-winning pianist Benjamin Moser will also perform, as well as pianist Louis Schwizgebel, who has performed with the BBC National Orchestra of Wales, and has toured with the Vienna Symphony Orchestra. Flautist Aleksandr Haskin is the co-principal flautist of the Qatar Philharmonic, and cellist Julia Bruskin is considered to be one of the top cellists of her generation. With such a stellar lineup, this is one classical music event not to miss. RMB30-380.
