Britain has recently climbed to the top of Monocle magazine's in the 'soft power' ranking of world nations. This is the first time that the UK have beaten US to top the chart, according to Daily Mail.
This assesses each country's influence in terms of politics, diplomacy, business, culture, sport and education rather than financial might and brute force, according to report, which says the success of the London Olympics, the popularity of the latest James Bond films all contributed to the ranking.
The top placed countries after Britain were the US, Germany, France and Sweden, Japan, Denmark, Switzerland, Australia, and Canada.
