BEIJING, July 29 (Xinhua) -- Domestic animated film "White Snake 2: The Tribulation of the Green Snake," the latest cinematic production centered on the ancient Chinese legend of the White Snake, continued to lead the Chinese mainland box office chart on Wednesday, the China Movie Data Information Network reported on Thursday.
Sequel to Light Chaser Animation's hit "White Snake," the film took in more than 24.7 million yuan (about 3.8 million U.S. dollars) in box office, bringing the total box office to 279 million yuan on the sixth day since its debut.
Following its lead was "Chinese Doctors," a cinematic depiction of China's efforts in combating the COVID-19 epidemic. It generated more than 16.14 million yuan on Wednesday, with its total box office topping 1.2 billion yuan.
Coming in third was the animation "Agent Backkom: Kings Bear," a sequel to the 2017 "Backkom Bear: Agent 008," raking in almost 3.19 million yuan. Enditem
