Cast of "A Dream of Red Mansions" remake revealed

BEIJING, Jan. 30 -- Producers of the television remake of "A Dream of Red Mansions" have finally selected two actresses, Yao Di and Bai Bing, to star in the series, director Li Shaohong announced Monday evening.

Web site sina.com.cn reported that Li Shaohong announced the decision at the Beijing Television Spring Festival gala. Yao Di and Bai Bing will star as the two heroines, Lin Daiyu and Xue Baochai, respectively.

In light of the actresses' true ages, younger girls will star as the heroines in their earlier years, the director said.
