BEIJING, Jan. 31 (Xinhuanet) -- U.S. talk show host Montel Williams will no longer show up in his daytime.
CBS TV Distribution confirmed Wednesday that "The Montel Williams Show" will cease production after 17 years on the air.
But it is planning to offer stations "Best of Montel" package that will feature segments from the show's run.
"Stations continue to embrace Montel and the message of social responsibility that has been the cornerstone of his show," CBS TV Distribution COO said, adding that it will offer 52 weeks of "Best Of Montel" moments.
Montel Williams, 51, who had served 22 years in the military, launched "The Montel Williams Show" in New York in 1991. He earned the Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Talk Show Host in 1996, and was even nominated several times for his show.
"I can't say thank you enough to those who've welcomed me into their homes for the past 17 years," Williams said. "It has been both an honor and a joy."
He did not reveal his future plan.
