War film "The Sacrifice" continues dominating Chinese box office

BEIJING, Nov. 5 (Xinhua) -- War film "The Sacrifice" remained at the top spot at China's daily box office, generating over 18.25 million yuan (about 2.7 million U.S. dollars) Wednesday.

This brought the film's total box office revenue since its Oct. 23 debut to 774 million yuan, figures compiled by the China Movie Data Information Network showed.

Set in the War to Resist U.S. Aggression and Aid Korea (1950-1953), the film was co-directed by Guan Hu, the director of this year's blockbuster war epic "The Eight Hundred."

"My People, My Homeland" ranked second, grossing about 5.5 million yuan Wednesday. The comedy depicting China's achievements in the fight against poverty witnessed its total box office receipts exceed 2.7 billion yuan Wednesday after its Oct. 1 release.

Coming in third was Japanese animated film "Digimon Adventure: Last Evolution Kizuna," which raked in close to 4.6 million yuan Wednesday. Enditem
