War film "The Sacrifice" continues leading Chinese box office

BEIJING, Nov. 6 (Xinhua) -- War film "The Sacrifice" remained at the top spot of China's daily box office chart, generating 17.44 million yuan (about 2.6 million U.S. dollars) Thursday.

This brought the film's total box office revenue since its Oct. 23 debut to 792 million yuan, figures compiled by the China Movie Data Information Network showed.

Set in the War to Resist U.S. Aggression and Aid Korea (1950-1953), the film was co-directed by Guan Hu, the director of this year's blockbuster war epic "The Eight Hundred."

"My People, My Homeland" ranked second, grossing about 5.4 million yuan Thursday. The comedy depicting China's achievements in the fight against poverty saw its total box office at 2.72 billion yuan from its Oct. 1 release to Thursday.

Coming in third was Japanese animated film "Digimon Adventure: Last Evolution Kizuna," which raked in close to 4.2 million yuan Thursday.
