LOS ANGELES, Dec. 15 (Xinhua) -- Chinese fantasy film "The Yin-Yang Master: Dream Of Eternity" has been set to debut on Netflix in February next year, the U.S. streaming giant said on Tuesday.

Netflix, which acquired rights excluding China, said in a release that the Chinese language film will be exclusively premiered in more than 190 countries and regions on Netflix starting Feb. 5, 2021.

Directed by Guo Jingming and starring Mark Chao and Allen Deng, the film is based on Onmyoji, a Japanese fantasy masterpiece by Baku Yumemakura, and follows a young yin-yang master Qingming who went to the capital Tiandu City to eliminate a powerful demon serpent.

"I'm excited that The Yin-Yang Master: Dream Of Eternity will soon be introduced to global audiences on Netflix. My biggest takeaway from adapting such an oriental aesthetics classic is how to work with the creative team to visualize such a mysterious, elegant, yet dangerous and challenging oriental world in all aspects," said Guo in the release.

"I hope Netflix members will enjoy the world of The Yin-Yang Master and find their own fun in this fantasy journey," he added.

"The Yin-Yang Master: Dream Of Eternity" has been set for a major theatrical release in Chinese mainland on Dec. 25.
