BEIJING, Feb. 18 -- Actors Kim Youngho and Park Eunhye were on the red carpet in Berlin on Tuesday for the world premiere of the Korean film "Night and Day."
The film begins with Sungnam, a married Korean man in his early forties and an award winning painter, arriving in Paris.
He escapes arrest for smoking marijuana by coming to a foreign land where he knows no-one.
Taking refuge in a run-down hostel owned by a fellow Korean, he spends his days aimlessly wandering the streets.
Even a chance meeting with his ex-girlfriend Minsun doesn't interest him as the guilt of leaving his wife behind weighs on his shoulders.
But when Sungnam is introduced to art student Yujeong, he falls head over heels in love and suddenly starts to adapt to life in an unfamiliar city.
Actress Park Eunhye, who plays Yujeong, said she was made to feel at home in Berlin.
Park Eunhye, South Korean Actress, said, "In South Korea, it's every actor's dream to be more global, to be shown abroad, and it was brought home to me when I actually came over to Berlin. People were saying hello in Korean and that made me feel very proud to be Korean, and from that point of view, I'm just very grateful for the fact that Korean cinema is being recognized all over the world."
"Night and Day" is in competition for the coveted Golden Bear at the 58th annual Berlin Film Festival.
