Christie Brinkley settles divorce battle

New York - The former supermodel Christie Brinkley agreed to pay her fourth husband more than £1 million in an out-of-court settlement that brought their lurid divorce trial to an abrupt end.

In a deal that the both sides claimed as a victory, she will get custody of their two children.

She will also keep 18 disputed properties in the Hamptons on Long Island and in the Turks and Caicos islands.

The settlement was reached after an all-night legal session in which the couples and their legal teams occupied separate suites at a hotel.
