Yes, the mechanical animal Britney Spears is officially back as her first tour in five years kicked off Tuesday night in New Orleans. Reviews are flooding the Internet about the Circus tour. Perezhilton.com says: "She did not appear heavily sedated or lethargic at all. She was on point!"

People.com sees it differently: "Don't call it a comeback quite yet. Britney Spears still isn't all the way there."

And over at the L.A. Times: "Britney Spears, the mighty Aphrodite with the troublesome tawdry streak, nonetheless renewed her claim as one of the world's most adept manipulators of the public interest." What you need to know is this: It appeared to reviewers that BritBrit was primarily lip-synching.

The show is about 90 minutes long, performed in the round, and features jugglers, clowns, magicians, martial artists, acrobats, rings of fire and dance moves, baby. And -- tear -- it's not coming through Detroit.
