Famous Chinese actor Huang Haibo was released yesterday after half a year’s “custody and education” for his misbehavior of soliciting prostitutes, reported SINA entertainment.

In the early morning of December 1, Huang posted his apology on the social media platform Sina Weibo, which reads: “It seems like ages have passed since I made that terrible mistake. Now that I finally have the opportunity to face the public, I would like to say sorry to all.”

“As a public figure, I failed as a role model. I didn’t live up to the expectations of my followers and brought great loss to many partners.”

“I decide to accept all the consequences my misbehavior has brought about. I will also examine myself and search my soul for a long period to come, and make contributions to the society with good deeds.”

Huang Haibo, an actor known for his portrayal of loving husbands and boyfriends, surprised fans when Beijing police detained him in May for hiring prostitutes in a hotel. His detention stretched out to six months of “custody and education”, as the authorities sought to change his bad conducts.

His case was one of the several notorious scandals in the showbiz circle this year, with many other celebrities such as Gao Hu, Li Daimo, Jaycee Chan, Kai Ko were also detained for drug-taking.

The State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television (SARFT) has thus declared in September to reconsider using celebrities with misdeeds. “The SARFT has urged the drama producing industry that any directors, playwrights and actors with misdeeds should be reconsidered for drama-shooting” revealed an insider.

There are rumors that Taiwan actor Kai Ko’s role in the already completed movie sequel Tiny TimesⅣ has been replaced by another actor and the reshooting is underway.

According to wccdaily.com, it is not likely that Huang will have the opportunity to show up on either big or small screens despite that he is loved for his acting.

But it is very likely that the 38-yr-old actor would become a producer or playwright as Huang has great interest in art, a close friend of Huang told the reporter.
