The director and his superstar wife of over seven years announced their split last week, and now gossips, tabloids and Internet sites are speculating about the settlement that will end their marriage.
And the Brit is furious that details of a private divorce "war summit" the director staged with his family were leaked to his wife - and he believes his ex is spying on him.
He has slammed the singer's underhand tactics, comparing her approach to their split as being like "something concocted by the KGB".
Ritchie reportedly told his wife: "This is a divorce, not the Cold War."
A source tells The Sun newspaper, "Any hopes Guy had of their divorce being private and dignified are well and truly out the window.
"He invited his father and sister to the house on the weekend for dinner. They discussed the divorce and how Guy could stand his ground against the Goliath that is Madonna and her PR machine."
And after Madonna became aware of the dinner, Ritchie became convinced that staff loyal to his wife were keeping tabs on him - and reporting back to the singer.
The source adds, "When Guy found out he lost the plot. He said, 'How can you set fire to our whole world? Why go to such lengths to destroy me?' But Guy knows it would be unusual if Madonna wasn't monitoring his every move."
