BEIJING, Nov. 2 (Xinhuanet) -- The 45-year-old “Two and a Half Men” star Charlie Sheen is divorcing his third wife Brooke Mueller, 33, according to media reports Tuesday.

The couple began living separately after Sheen allegedly assaulted Mueller during a 2009 Christmas vacation in Aspen, Colo.Sheen said in divorce papers filed in Los Angeles Superior Court.

He cited irreconcilable differences for the divorce.

Sheen and Mueller were married in May 2008 and they got two twin boys, Bob and Max, in 2009.

Sheen is seeking joint physical and legal custody of their twins. But according to the property settlement document the couple signed back in May, Mueller and Sheen get joint legal custody of their two kids.Mueller gets primary physical custody andSheen gets visitation.

Under the settlement, Sheenwill pay Mueller 757,000 dollarsplus another 1.2 million dollars from the equity in their house. He willalso provide 55,000 dollarsa month in child support payments.
