Hugh Grant, the actor, has been seen kissing a burlesque singer thirty years his junior in Germany just a day after his new fatherhood was announced following a brief fling.
Despite becoming a father at 51, the Notting Hill star was seen earlier this week dining with German Elisa Schmidt at Borchardt, a restaurant popular with celebrities in Berlin.
The pair were then seen walking hand-in-hand across the Franzssische Strasse, its well known shopping street, before Grant sent his chauffeur home.
Reports in Germany claimed the pair "then took a taxi and shared hot kisses in the back seat".
The reports came a day after it was announced that he had become a father for the first time after his former girlfriend Tinglan Hong, 32, gave birth to his daughter five weeks ago.
The girl’s name has not been announced. The pregnancy was not planned and Grant is understood not to have been present at the birth.
The singer, who uses the one-word stage name Schmidt and divides her time between Berlin and London, is is a protege of record producer Guy Chambers, the multi-millionaire former song-writing partner of Robbie Williams, the Daily Mail reported.
Miss Schmidt told Bild, a German tabloid newspaper: "I was in London with Guy to talk about my first album. In the evening we shared a meal and there got to know Hugh Grant.
"Since then we have come to understand one another very well and have become good friends. But there is definitely nothing more than friendship. Now he is in Berlin and invited me to dinner. That is all."
In the promotional video for her EP Sin City, which recreates the louche excess of the 1920s, the singer appears in stockings and corset and a short-cut tutu. She appears to run her hand down the chest of a fellow female club-goer and move to kiss her.
The new details on his liason with the singer, came after reports said Miss Hong gave birth on September 26 at the private Portland Hospital in central London by Caesarean section. It was reported the mother used the name “Sophie” during her stay at the hospital.
However, he spent 30 minutes with his daughter the following day before heading to Scotland to play golf, it was reported, which he plays to scratch.
Grant and Miss Hong met last year and began a relationship in January but it is understood to have petered out soon after she fell pregnant.
However, Miss Hong, who was living in New Malden, Surrey, is now reported to have moved closer to the actor’s £3m home in Fulham, south-west London.
On Thursday, Grant was seen arriving at the £1.2 million terraced house in Fulham, west London, he had set up for his former girlfriend.
He spent about 45 minutes at the house, after arriving just before 7.30pm in a Ferrari.
He told reporters: "I have a 24-hour break from filming in Germany. I have come back to protect my baby."
On the day of the birth, the Four Weddings And A Funeral actor was at the Labour Party conference in Liverpool.
Grant, estimated to be worth £40million, has had relationships with several high-profile women, including Liz Hurley, the model, and Jemima Khan, the campaigner and author.
However, none of his girlfriends have become wives and it has regularly been suggested that the actor cannot commit to relationships.
On September 23, three days before the birth, he tweeted: 'Recently, in my life, everything is beautiful! I'm happy.'
Four years ago Grant told Vogue, the magazine, that he was ready to be a father, saying: 'As much as I adore myself, I'm quite keen to find someone else to care about more. I remember reading a Warren Beatty quote when he finally had children and said what a relief it was not to be all me, me, me.'
On Tuesday Grant’s spokesman said: “I can confirm that Hugh Grant is the delighted father of a baby girl.
“He and the mother had a fleeting affair and, while this was not planned, Hugh could not be happier or more supportive.
“He and the mother have discussed everything and are on very friendly terms.”
The identity of the mother has not been formally disclosed.
