The Best Actor Award has been won by Mads Mikkelsen for his role in The Hunt by Thomas Vinterberg.

After receiving his prize from Chinese actress Gong Li, the winner declared: "Dear Jury, let me give you a huge thank you. I am very moved. I would like to share this prize with everyone who loves the cinema and with all those who were involved, near and far, with this film. I also wish to share the prize with Thomas Vinterberg. Thank you for inviting us into this universe of love."
