BEIJING, Aug. 4(Xinhuanet)--"Burn the Floor", a dance performance with renown equal to"River Dance", will play in Beijing at the Great Hall of the People, from October 14 to 16.

The show will be staged by 36 top-class dancers from 12 countries, sources with the chief organizer China Arts and Entertainment Group(CAEG)said here Thursday.

All 36 dancers have together won 136 world championships competitions.

According to the CAEG, popular music star Elton John, on his 50th birthday party, staged for more than 600 celebrities a 25-minute dancing performance, which was later developed into a two-hour dancing performance named"Burn the Floor", by Australianfamous artist Harley Medcalf, with 10 million US dollars.

The settings include a masquerade in Venice, a bullfight in Spain, and Moulin Rouge de France.

The music, ranging from the swing music of the 1930s to popularmusic, will change with the scenes, Jason added.

The CAEG said"Burn the Floor" has fired up the worldwide enthusiasm since it kicked off its tour in 1999. So far, the troupe has visited 15 countries and 87 cities.
