BEIJING, Nov. 23-- Madonna has added a ninth British No. 1 album to her career tally, joining her 11th No. 1 single to complete her domination of the British sales charts.
¡§Confessions on a Dance Floor¡¨ debuted at No. 1 on the new album survey, the Official UK Charts Company said Sunday, while¡§Hung Up¡¨ started a second week at the singles chart peak.
On the singles chart,"Hung Up" fended off Westlife's former chart-topper"You Raise Me Up," which held at No. 2, and Black Eyed Peas'"My Humps," which arrived at No. 3.
Beneath Madonna on the album chart, there was a No. 2 start for the new compilation"Never Forget¢w The Ultimate Collection" by erstwhile pop heroes Take That, following the screening by ITV last Wednesday of a documentary about the Robbie Williams'old group.
