Young dramatists to stage comedy based on news events

BEIJING, Dec. 30(Xinhuanet)-- A group of young dramatists in China will stage a comedy based on news events of the whole year between January 12 and 15 before the traditional Chinese Spring Festival which falls on January 29.

The play's director Shi Zhan, a young drama professional graduated from China Central Drama Institute, said that the play"Look at our happy life" tells a story about two young men Xiao Huand Xiao Die who dream of making a play of their own. Due to lack of much money, they have to receive financial support by an investor"Shan Ge". However, when they are busy in rehearsing the play, a series of accidents have happened one after another and hindered their rehearsal. They have to find out the truth behind the misfortune.

Accidents covered in last year's newspapers were replayed in the play, so that people may look back into the history and see clearly how human being live through disasters, Shi said. In this way, the two young men in the play and the young audience could learn how to realize their dream against hardship.

Last year, Shi and his crew staged a comic play using local dialect in northeast China, which has a lot of fun in wording and sounds humorous in tune. Shi and his crew became immediately popular among young audience, and their creation was commented typical of"entertainment drama".

Shi, regardless of all the controversy arisen from his previous work, said the comedy does not merely make people laugh, but should leave people more space to think in a happy mood. Enditem
