DAVOS, Switzerland, Jan. 25(Xinhuanet)-- U.S. chip maker Intel Corp. on Wednesday announced plans to train an additional 10 million teachers in developing countries over the next five years. Intel also said it would donatate 100,000 personal computers to classrooms in developing nations to improve learning skills. "All governments face the same challenge: to provide their citizens with the opportunity to succeed in the global economy. Increasingly, that success is linked to the quality of education,"Intel Chairman Craig Barrett said in a statement. "Only by putting the tools and training in place to empower teachers can we truly affect learning and the development of skills," he added. The announcement, made here on the first day of the World Economic Forum, highlighted Intel's 100 million U.S. dollar annual commitment to improving education for young people worldwide. The Intel initiative, Teach to the Future, has already trained over 3 million teachers in 35 countries since its launch in 2000. Enditem
