Education officials sacked over college entrance exam fraud

XI'AN, July 8 (Xinhua) -- A county education bureau head and a middle school principal were sacked Friday over a college entrance exam fraud, local sources said.

Wang Yukui was sacked from his post as director of the Education Bureau of Yangxian County and Li Pengyun, principal of the Yangxian Middle School, was also removed from office.

Fifteen others, including a deputy director of the county education bureau and a dean in charge of education affairs of the middle school, also got punished because of the fraud.

Four students in the county were found to take the exam on June7 on behalf of others, according to an investigation team.

The identification card, registered residence and schooling certificates of three students and replaced ones were all fake, said the team. Enditem
