JAKARTA, March 13 (Xinhua) -- Indonesian prosecutors Tuesday recommended a two-year jail sentence for the chief editor of the local version of the U.S. adult magazine Playboy.

Prosecutor Resny Muchtar said Playboy publisher Erwin Arnada is guilty of indecent acts, the South Jakarta District Court heard.

Hundreds of members of hard-line Islamic Defender Front (FPI) packed the courtroom, pushing on the prosecutors to change the demand to capital punishment.

Cleric ASbu Bakar Ba'asyir was also among the crowd.

"This (Playboy) is an offense to moral values. We must stand up and struggle for sharia (Islamic law)," said Ba'asyir, 69, who has been accused by several governments of being the spiritual leader of shadowy terror group Jemaah Islamiyah and has spent four years in jail for terror conviction.

The toned-down Indonesian Playboy made its debut last year, featuring local models but no nudity.
