Take That musical to hit British stage

BEIJING, March 15 -- Amusical featuring the songs of British boy band Take That is to hit London's West End theatre district, its producer said yesterday.

"Never Forget," described as a fictional, feel-good comedy about a Take That tribute band, features hit songs including "Back for Good" and "Relight My Fire."

Producer Tristan Baker compared the show, which will play in Cardiff, Glasgow, Manchester, Stoke-on-Trent and Edinburgh later this year before coming to London, to the highly successful ABBA musical "Mamma Mia!"

"We are the biggest fans of Take That's music and we are so excited about the wonderful opportunity to create a new musical based on the fantastic catalogue of their work," he added.

Take That sold around 19 million records in the 1990s and have had 10 British No. 1 hit singles.

They split in 1996 but reformed 10 years later without founder member Robbie Williams, who has become one of the biggest solo male artists in the world.
