"Blades of Glory" tops box office for 2nd consecutive week in U.S.

LOS ANGELES, April 9 (Xinhua) -- "Blades of Glory" brought in 22.5 million U.S. dollars to top the box office in the United States for the second consecutive weekend, according to final figures released on Monday.

The ice skating comedy from Paramount has grossed 67.9 million dollars since its debut last weekend, according to figures released on Monday by Encino-based Media by Numbers.

The computer-animated Disney flick, "Meet The Robinsons," came in second with 16.7 million dollarsin its second week in theaters.

Sony's family comedy "Are We Done Yet?" came in third place with 14.3 million dollars. The movie, a sequel to "Are We There Yet?", opened last Wednesday.

"Grindhouse", the double feature horror movie raked in 11.6 million dollars.

Another horror movie, "The Reaping", took in 10 million dollarsto finish fifth. It opened last Thursday.

The top 12 were "300" (8.4 million dollars); "Wild Hogs" (6.6 million); "Shooter" (5.9 million); "TMNT" (4.8 million); " Firehouse Dog" (3.8 million); "Premonition" (3.1 million); and "Reign Over Me" (2.4 million).

The dozen top-grossing films generated a total of 110.2 million dollars, a-7.2 percent jump over the 102.8 million grossed by the 12 top movies during the same weekend last year.
