SHANGHAI, June 6 -- THE city set up a Korean language tourism Website yesterday, its third such foreign language site, according to the Shanghai Tourism Administrative Commission. Shanghai already has tourism Websites in English and Japanese. The new Website (www.shanghaitrip.net) is divided into six parts containing information about scenic spots, surrounding areas, traffic, hotels, entertainment and sporting events. "Information about local tourism agencies is also available on the Website," said Yang Yimu, an official with the commission's international tourism promotion department. "It also contains itineraries for tourists from South Korea." "We have solicited suggestions from Koreans living in Shanghai," he added. Yang said the city cooperated with a South Korean design company to create a site suitable for Koreans. The Website was launched yesterday to mark the 15th anniversaries of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and South Korea, said the commission. About 400,000 tourists from South Korea visited the city last year, making the country one of the biggest sources of tourists to the city. The number of Korean tourists visiting Shanghai is growing every year. The commission also signed a memorandum calling for more cooperation with the Korea Tourism Organization.
