BEIJING, June25 -- Hong Kong actor and pop singer sensation, Andy Lau, will join Chinese mainland comedy director Ning Hao's new film "Crazy Racer," the Chinese Business Morning View reported on Saturday.

The new comedy will mix a love story with crime plots, which will be linked together by a bicycle racing tournament.

Hong Kong veteran film star Anthony Wong and mainland actor Guo Tao will also be among the cast members.

Shooting is expected to take place from next month until early September in southeastern China's Xiamen city. It is estimated to cost 20 million yuan (2.6 million U.S. dollars).

Ning Hao, a 30-year-old graduate from the Beijing Film Academy, gained fame home and abroad last year with the popular comedy "Crazy Stone."

The film was a veritable blockbuster last summer, as it achieved revenues of 20 million yuan after costing only 3 million yuan (393,000 dollars).
