BEIJING, July 31 (Xinhuanet) -- What does a girl do when offered an 8-carat diamond engagement ring by actor Eddie Murphy? Tracey Edmonds said, yes!

Murphy, the star of such films as "Norbit" and "Dreamgirls" proposed to Edmonds according to OK! magazine.

Murphy began dating Edmonds, the ex-wife of music producer Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds, 10 months ago, following a relationship with Spice Girl Mel B, with whom he fathered a baby girl.

OK! reports Murphy proposed to Tracey with a Cartier yellow diamond ring weighing around 8 carats.

The couple will reportedly get married before year's end.

Murphy's divorce with Nicole Mitchell, the mother of five of his children, was made final in April 2006.
