SHANGHAI, Aug. 6 -- A SIX-YEAR-OLD girl in Chongqing Municipality survived a four-story fall yesterday after falling out an apartment window while jumping on the bed. Yang Jing fell out the window of a neighbor's home about 10am when she and two other girls were leaping on a bed close to the window, Chongqing Business News reported today. She landed in a ditch. "We were dancing on the bed with music playing loudly and suddenly she stumbled over a pillow and flew out the window," seven-year-old Chen Yueming, Yang's relative, told the newspaper. Chen also said there was no adult home at the time. Chen told the newspaper that she cried for help after she saw Yang lying on the ground unconscious. Yang Pan, Yang Jing's elder brother, rushed to the scene from his home on the third floor and called their mother, the report said. The girl was diagnosed with a skull fracture. She also had several scratches and bruises on her chest and left ankle. She is now under medical observation at a local hospital, said the report. There are no laws in China preventing parents from leaving young children alone at home.
