AMMAN, Sept. 9 (Xinhua) -- Jordan will be an active participant in the World Expo to be held in Shanghai, China in 2010, a senior official with the Jordanian Industry and Trade Ministry said on Sunday.

Yarub Qudah, chief of Jordan's Enterprise Development Corporation under the ministry, made the remarks during his meeting with a visiting delegation of the Shanghai World Expo Organizing Committee.

Qudah said he would head the Jordanian delegation to participate in the Shanghai World Expo, which Jordan is well placed to contribute to.

Jordan looks forward to working closely with the Organizing Committee in the future to ensure Jordan's contribution and the success of the 2010 Shanghai Expo, said Qudah.

The Chinese delegation had toured Ethiopia, the United Arab Emirates, and they will also visit Kuwait.

The Shanghai World Expo is expected to be held from May 1 to Oct. 31 in 2010.
