SHANGHAI, Sept. 11 -- RESIDENTS of a community in Changning District are trying to figure out how a 12-year-old boy can make inanimate objects jump around or fly. The boy, Zheng Qi, has been asked to stay away from school as he may make objects around him jump up and down. Zheng's family found the boy's 'magic' came into being at about 8am on Saturday, according to the Xinmin Evening News. "Things, no matter what they are made of, wood, plastic, metal or even pottery, will fall or fly as soon as the boy comes near," the boy's parents told the newspaper. When Zheng was sitting on a chair near the door of the living room at his home on Sunday morning, a wooden clothes rack, which was about one-meter tall, suddenly fell in his direction. Fortunately, the rack was too short to hit the boy. Every few minutes, things on the table next to him fell to the ground, including a pottery cup, a pottery tea pot and a pair of scissors, the Evening news said. A wooden shelf fell in the boy's direction when he walked into the laundry room. Zheng went to neighbors and community offices to try to get rid of his magic, but all attempts failed, according to the newspaper. "Home appliances jumped up and down when he came into a room," a neighbor told the newspaper. "And when we tried to record the scenes with a digital camera, the camera immediately ran out of power," the neighbor said. Experts in qigong, a form of martial arts, will visit Zheng's home to try to help.
