2007-09-11 03:23:35 Shanghai Daily

SHANGHAI, Sept. 11 -- PEOPLE in China will enjoy a weeklong holiday from October 1 to October 7 for National Day, according to the State Council.

However, they must work at the preceding weekends of September 29-30 as a swap.

Bosses have to pay three times of salary as overtime pay on the first three days of weeklong holidays.

China launched three golden weeks from 1999, which are the Spring Festival, May Day holiday and National Day holiday.
