TWO drivers were fined for parking their cars and blowing their horns on a Wuhan highway on Monday to celebrate the Shanghai stock market index breaking the 6,000 threshold, a local newspaper said today. Police officer Li Wanling spotted the two cars parked the highway around 3pm on Monday. He approached the cars and found the two drivers were sounding the horns continuously, while passengers were cheering, the report said. They told Li that they were excited because the Shanghai stock index had passed the 6,000 point mark and a stock they bought surged on the day. The police then fined the two drivers 200 yuan (US$26.63) each and gave them a six-point penalty on their driving licenses, the report said. A driver's license can be suspended if he racks up 12 points.
