BEIJING, Dec. 15 (Xinhua) -- A total of 6.01 million university graduates, or 58 percent of the total, found jobs with the help of employment services from 2004 and 2006, according to a national personnel conference on Saturday.
Minister of Personnel Yin Weimin told the conference that the country had encouraged the development of employment service agencies and had accumulated experience for the establishment of a public human resource network.
More than 6,600 various human resource agencies, 2,700 "personnel exchange sites" and 3,100 human resource websites were set up across the country over the past five years, statistics show.
A total of 61.37 million job seekers registered with such employment services between 2003 and 2006, which helped 25.48 million find or change jobs, according to the Ministry of Personnel.
State Councilor Hua Jianmin ordered improving employment services for university graduates and demobilized military personnel.
"Human resource departments should improve the civil servant system, deepen the income-distribution reform at government agencies, and properly arrange civilian jobs for demobilized military officers," Hua told the conference.
A total of 337,000 officers of the People's Liberation Army (PLA) were transferred to civilian work over the past five years, statistics show.
