The job hunting season for college graduates in Beijing is scheduled to conclude in June in 2008, one month earlier than before, to make way for the Beijing Olympics, reported the Beijing News on Monday.

The new policy was announced by Beijing Municipal Bureau of Personnel. An official from the bureau said that the bureau planned to apply for a special fund from the municipal government to organize job fairs.

The job fairs will open free to both job hunters and employers, the official said.

Many new graduates will wait for more choices in September to land ideal jobs, although most of them will finish school in July.

In 2008, no job fairs will be held from July to September, during which the eye-catching 2008 Olympic Games and the succedent Paralympics will be held in the city.

The personnel department is now working on specific schemes to trim the job application process, the report says.
