Last week, Forbes.com unveiled a ranking of the world's "happiest countries" based on a survey of the research institute Gallup World Poll.
Researchers polled thousands of respondents in 155 countries between 2005 and 2009.
The study also found evidence of what many have long suspected: money does buy happiness -- at least a certain kind of it.
Following are the top threes "happiest countries" from the four continents:
Europe
No. 1: Denmark
No. 2: Finland
No. 3: Norway
Americas
No. 1: Costa Rica
No. 2: Canada
No. 3: Panama
Africa
No. 1: Malawi
No. 2: Libya
No. 3: Botswana
Asia
No. 1: New Zealand
No. 2: Israel
No. 3: Australia
