Most of Chinese papers on SCI are rubbish: Expert

Most of the Chinese papers published on Science Citation Index (SCI) are rubbish and less than 15 percent are useful, said Zhong Shizhen, a member of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, on a press conference yesterday.

A few days ago, a professor from Zhongshan University said on a forum "Chinese academia weighs the number of teachers' papers on SCI too much when conferring academic titles, which has harmed the academic development."
