Strauss opera"The Bat" hits China

BEIJING, Mar. 16-- Johann Strauss's classic light opera"The Bat" will hit Chinese stages on April 22nd and 23rd at the People's Congress Hall.

The performance, held as part of the International Opera Festival 2005 in China, also marks the first time a renowned international troupe has staged the whole play in the country.

The organizers plan to introduce the kind of high artistic works into Chinese market in order to boost the popularity of opera in China.
