BEIJING, Mar. 16-- Hong Kong veteran pop singer Sandy Lam admitted through friends that she is now in a new relationship with Fai-hung Chan, who was her boyfriend 20 years ago and now the managing director of EMI Music Hong Kong. The news was also confirmed by Chan.

Lam, who attracted media frenzy last year by divorcing the Taiwanese"godfather of music" Jonathan Lee, was seen having an intimate dinner with Chan in Sheung Wan, Hong Kong, by Hong Kong's Oriental Daily reporters Sunday night. The couple appeared to be close, with their hands holding tightly from time to time. They stayed at the restaurant until 11 p.m. and then left together.

In her reply to Hong Kong reporters' inquiries, Lam said the two started dating last Christmas.

"It feels great to be back in Hong Kong with old friends," Lam said."It feels so warm and comfortable to be back together with Chan. I am very happy."

The singer and Chan met in 1984 when working as DJs for a radio station in Hong Kong. After spending a few years together as lovers, they separated but remained good friends. When Lam was married to Taiwanese producer and singer Jonathan Lee, Chan also tied knot with a Taiwanese girl. But both of them are now single again.

Chan did not hide his cheerfulness about the relationship. When interviewed by reporters, the EMI managing director told reporters it was a very natural transition from friends to lovers for the two.

"Both of us have experienced a lot in these 20 years and now we have a lot in common. I'm most comfortable just being around her," Chan said.
