BEIJING, May 13-- One of the most anticipated movies this summer-Star Wars Episode 3: Revenge of the Sith, opens in US cinemas Thursday.
While director George Lucas concludes his string of epic science fiction blockbusters, fans around the world are gearing up for the sixth and final episode of the groundbreaking star war series.

Revenge of the Sith is the final piece of the large multi-movie project Lucas first outlined more than 3 decades ago. Actor Ian McDiarmid says he enjoyed working with Lucas in part because the director takes such a creative approach, never losing sight of the story-telling element regardless of how big and action-packed the film is.
"George has the knowledge¡Khis regular team."
Overall the star war movies have generated more than 3.5 billion US dollars in global box office. Meanwhile Lucas is living a dream come true.
"Actually I had a lot of fun making these movies¡Klot of fun."
And the film series has brought the director more than just money and fun. He's expected to receive a lifetime contribution award at the Cannes Film Festival, where the film is making its European debut.
Production of the film was done in the Australia and United Kingdom. The movie was also shot on location in China, Thailand, Switzerland and Tunisia, providing a backdrop for many of the new planet scenes in the Revenge of the Sith.
