BEIJING, Aug.4-- Stephen Chow was at the Melbourne Film Festival conference in Melbourne, Australia. During the conference Stephen spoke in fluent English and when he was asked if he wanted to be the'new' Jacky Chan, Stephen replied saying,"Who is new Jack Chan?", showing that he has never wanted to steal the spotlight off Jacky.

Stephen attended this conference, also called Stephen Chow talks about Kung Fu, with Yuen Qiu, Hsiao Liang and Chan Man Keung. On the night, there were approximately 200 school students. Even though there were translators at the conference, Stephen refused to use the translators until he came across some harder phrases such as'­ð§Bªê' and'°_­¸¸}'.Stephen was at first worried about speaking poor English but he handled it very well. The host of the conference said that most of the movies Stephen have not been aired at English cinemas but at the Chinese cinema in China Town. Stephen replied saying,"That is why I produced the movie Kung Fu Hustle." Kung Fu Hustle has successfully hit the world markets and Stephen is very happy. He says that this movie gives the western audiences a fresh look and introduces them into Chinese culture.

When asked he was going to be the"new" Jacky Chan, Stephen interjected saying that from a very young age he was liked Chinese Kung Fu and that he has always idolised Bruce Lee.

The conference only went for approximately 30 minutes. After the conference Stephen left the area very quickly, this disappointed many students as they had not gotten the chance to have a photo taken with their idol.
