BEIJING, Aug. 31-- The country's most popular TV program"Super Girl" has wrapped up, but the mania it caused is still alive and well in cyberspace, where fans of the top singers are bidding on a series of goods related to the show. The televised singing contest finished on Friday, with Li Yuchun, a 21-year-old student from Sichuan Province, taking home the grand prize.

Articles related to the show's finalists have quickly become top sellers on eBay Eachnet.com and Taobao.com, the two largest online auction sites in the country.

Articles for sale range from posters and T-shirts bearing the singer's images, to clothes similar with those worn by the contestants on stage and a cell phone number that includes finalist's birthday.

At least 400 to 500"Super Girl" related articles were put up for bid online, with the price ranging from 5 yuan(62 US cents) to hundreds of yuan, according to the two Websites.

For instance, a seller claimed that a bracelet she put up for sale is the same style as one worn by Li, and it is very difficult to find a similar item in retail outlets.

The top bid yesterday for the thin silver bracelet listed on Taobao.com was 388 yuan.

Meanwhile, a cell phone number- 13801841011- that includes the birth date of third place finisher Zhang Liangying, who was born on October 11, 1984, had attracted a top bid of 190 yuan at eBay Eachnet.com yesterday.

Cell phone numbers normally sell for 80 to 100 yuan in the city. Sun Binyi, an economics professor at East China Normal University, said the price of the articles had already been boosted by the show's fans to exceed their real value.

But the price is bound to drop after"Super Girl" fever ebbed, he added.

Fans said they are glad to see the articles available for sale.

"It will be a valuable souvenir to mark our love for these lovely idols," said Zhou Fei, a local university student.
