shows swans flying at sunrise over the Dalino'er Lake in the Hexigten
World Geopark in Hexigten Banner in Chifeng City, north China's Inner
Mongolia Autonomous Region. The Hexigten World Geopark, listed in the
category by the UNESCO International Geopark Assessment Committee in
Febrary 2005, is the only one of the kind on the Inner Mongolia grassland.
It has amazing landforms, with glaciers and volcanic vestiges sticking
together, grasslands and lakes nourishing each other, and deserts and hot
springs nestling. The beautiful, mysterious Hexigten Geopark, covering an
area of 5,000 square kilometers, is a miniature of the landscape of Inner
Mongolia and a natural geological museum. The local government has been
making efforts in environmental protection to preserve the natural
landscapes of the geopark.(Photo: Xinhua)[1][2][3][4][5][6]
