BEIJING, Sept. 1 -- Chinese actor Hu Ge was injured in a car accident on Tuesday night around 11pm on the highway from Hangzhou to Shanghai.

One of his female assistants died two hours later in hospital.

The actor's publicist, Cai Yinong, told the media the actor's life was fortunately not in danger and he had just received stitches for the wound on his forehead.

Sina.com reports Hu had been sent to a hospital in Hong Kong Thursday afternoon.

However, neither the hospital nor his publicist gave any details on whether the wound would affect his facial appearance.

The actor was shooting the TV drama "Legend of the Condor Heroes" in Hengdian, Zhejiang province.

The 20-something young actor made his name famous for his debut in martial arts drama "The Legend of Divine Sword and Wizardly Knight-Errant".
