During the concerton Monday night, Streisand, an outspoken liberal Democrat, interjected a political skit that portrayed U.S. President George W. Bush as a fool, and drew a few jeersduring the skit.
Though Streisand tried to regain control of her show by requesting the audience to "be polite," one heckler wouldn't let up.Finally, Streisand let him have it.
"Shut the (expletive) up," an exasperated Streisand bellowed to the heckler, drawing wild applause. "If you can't take a joke, why don't you leave and get your money back."
With that one F-word, the jeers ended. The heckler followed her suggestion and left the arena.
Streisand later apologized to the audience for using the F-word.
As for the Bush impersonator, Streisand pointed out that "the artist's role is to disturb."
The show was the third stop in Streisand's 20-city concert tour, her firstin 12 years. Enditem
