SHANGHAI, May 31 -- Stamps, envelopes, postcards and other historic memorabilia are on show until tomorrow at Pudong New Area Citizen Center. All the exhibits were provided by collectors from 19 provinces around the country, according to Chen Guoqiang, official of Pudong New Area Philately Association, the show's organizer. A hundred sets of stamps, each with different styles, are being shown. Other items include postal receipts and cigarette boxes, movie tickets and historic newspapers. "Our exhibition is a platform for ordinary stamp fans to share their philately experiences," said Chen, who said other items relevant to stamps were included in the display. One set of receipts shows how expensive postal fees were in China in 1993. "Costs of postal services were relatively high during the early 1990s," said Chen. "So additional postal fees were required in that period. The collection actually records that history." "I love these stamps," said Sun Xinyi, one of the visitors. "I would like to share my own collection with more people next time." Nearly 10,000 people have visited the exhibition so far.
