BEIJING, Jun 6 -- National College Entrance Examination (NCEE) candidates in Harbin in northeast China will be given priority when taking taxis on Thursday and Friday, days on which the exam will be held.

The city' public security bureau, administrative bureau and the provincial radio station F.M. 99.8 have jointly launched the initiative, in a bid to offer NCEE examinees peace of mind.

Taxis taking part in the activity will be marked with a yellow sign. Examinees will be given priority to ride in the taxi, once they show their examination identification to the driver.

In a further move, green lights will be given to taxis with the yellow sign.

The National College Entrance Examination is an academic examination held annually throughout the mainland. College acceptance is almost always based on a student's examination results.

The examination was originally held on July 7-9, but due to China's notoriously hot summer weather, it has been moved up to June 7-8.
