BEIJING, Aug. 11 (Xinhua) -- "Four treasures of study", a set of ancient Chinese stationary including brush pen, paper, ink stick and ink slab, will be recommended to get the United Nation's world intangible cultural heritage status.

Guo Haitang, director of the China Association of Four Treasures of Study, said a team of experts has been preparing application materials to be submitted to the Ministry of Culture in October.

"Four treasures of study" embodies rich traditional culture dating back to 5,000 years ago, but a survey in 2000 showed only 20 million of the 1.3 billion Chinese still know how to use them, said Guo.
