Owen Wilson (File Photo) BEIJING, Sept. 4 (Xinbuanet) -- Hollywood actor Owen Wilson is "doing very well" following a suicide attempt last week, the director of his latest film said Monday. The 38-year-old actor and writer, nominated for an Oscar along with Wes Anderson for the screenplay of "The Royal Tenenbaums," was released from a clinic over the weekend and is now recuperating at his home in Santa Monica, California. "Obviously he has been through a lot this week. He's doing very well, he's making us laugh," Anderson, who directed Wilson in "The Darjeeling Limited," told reporters at the Venice Film Festival. Wilson was taken to a hospital last week after police responded to a call about a suicide attempt at his Santa Monica home. The day after he was hospitalized, he issued a statement asking for privacy so he could "receive care and heal." Wilson is regarded as one of Hollywood's most bankable actors, having appeared in a string of hit comedies including "Wedding Crashers" and "Zoolander." Wilson was romantically linked to "You, Me and Dupree" co-star Kate Hudson although their relationship recently ended. (Agencies)
